Autumn of CS Academic Year Workshops for
2024 Summer of CS participants
2024 Summer of CS participants
Academic Year Workshops are follow-up workshops which are only open to Summer of CS workshop participants. Participants who are eligible will receive an email from their COE CS Champion and/or workshop facilitators with details regarding the format, location, and agenda for their workshop.
Did you participate in a Summer of CS workshop in June, July, or August 2024? Then we invite you to continue your CS professional learning journey in upcoming Academic Year Workshops (AYWs) designed to extend your summer workshop experience, reconnect you with your cohort, and provide you with “just-in-time” support as you deliver standards-aligned, equity-minded instruction to your students. To acknowledge your full and active participation, you may opt in to receive a $250 stipend for fully and actively participating in, and completing, each six-hour AYW workshop.

Did you participate in a Summer of CS workshop in June, July, or August 2024? Then network with like-minded educators who have a passion for educational technology and CS. All 2024 Summer of CS participants will receive a separate communication with information about this virtual meeting. Scheduled date to be announced.
Note: At our virtual computer science professional learning workshops, we prioritize fostering an interactive and collaborative environment. These workshops are designed not only to impart standards-based knowledge and skills but also to provide California K-12 educators with the invaluable opportunity to connect with their peers who share a passion for computer science and educational technology. Considering this emphasis on connecting with others, we have chosen not to permit AI notetaking bots, like Otter AI, during our sessions. Our decision aligns with the expectations set by the California Department of Education, which requires active, live participation from educators to qualify for stipends related to these synchronous workshops. We understand that everyone's learning preferences differ. If you're someone who leans towards asynchronous learning, we encourage you to check out the other Seasons of CS learning opportunities.
