📌 Important! Due to restrictions in the Educator Workforce Investment Grant (EWIG) in Computer Science, private and independent school educators, expanded learning educators, pre-service teachers, and substitute teachers are not eligible for Summer of CS participation and a stipend. This includes the CSPDWeek workshops.

Food & Beverage: The Opening Ceremony and Lunch will begin on Monday, June 23rd with workshops starting after lunch. Breakfast will be provided on June 24th through June 27th, and lunch will be provided on each event day for all registered attendees. Dinner will not be provided.

Location: Anaheim Marriott Hotel, 700 West Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802 Directions
Lodging: Anaheim Marriott Hotel accommodation will be provided for all registered participants. Once you have a fully signed Participation Agreement and your workshop registration is confirmed, you will receive an email asking you to book your hotel room.
Parking: Self-parking for one vehicle at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel can be applied to your room charges and parking will be paid for directly by CDE Foundation. Valet parking is at your own expense.
Registration Requirement: Due to capacity constraints, you are able to choose only one summer workshop when you enroll for a workshop. You and your supervisor must sign the Participation Agreement before your registration is fully confirmed. No prior knowledge in Computer Science is necessary to participate.
Registration Badge Pickup: The registration desk will open on Monday, June 23rd at 11:00 AM. You can check in and pick up your name tag by visiting the registration desk in the Anaheim Marriott Hotel Platinum Ballroom foyer.
Stipend: You must have a fully signed Participation Agreement before you can be eligible for a $250 daily stipend for 5 days of CSPDWeek workshop participation. CSPDWeek attendees in Anaheim will also be compensated for the completion of the additional 3 hours of pre-CSPDWeek activities since it is part of the 30-hour time commitment necessary to fulfill full and active participation in their summer workshop. These pre-CSPDWeek activities include:
Kick-off Event on June 2, 2025, from 4-5:30 PM. (one and a half hours)
Asynchronous activity as assigned by the workshop facilitator. (one and a half hours)
Travel: Travel Reimbursement for Mileage and Economy Airfare will be offered for this statewide offering. You must have a fully signed Participation Agreement before you can be eligible for a reimbursement payment.
Webinar: Summer of CS Kick-off: All Grade 6-12 CSPDWeek registrants were required to attend our virtual Summer of CS Kick-off webinar hosted on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 4:00 - 5:30 PM. Asynchronous work was assigned by your workshop facilitator during this event to help you prepare for your CSPDWeek workshop. This pre-workshop work is part of the 30-hour time commitment necessary to fulfill full and active participation in your summer workshop. If you did not attend the Kick-off webinar, you are still expected to complete the full 3 hours to remain eligible for the stipend. If you haven’t connected with your CS Champion or workshop hosts about how to make up the missed session, please email seasonsofcs@cdefoundation.org for guidance.
What To Bring: Please bring a fully charged laptop, a charging cable, and any learning resources. Also, be aware that your workshop facilitator(s) will contact you before Monday, June 23rd, to share additional information or resources about what you may need to bring.
Personal Credit Card - Your hotel room and parking charges will be routed to the CDE Foundation main account. The hotel will ask for a credit card at check-in for incidental charges (restaurant, bar, business center, etc) and will only be charged if you make any purchases.

The Summer of CS is a research-backed professional learning program for teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, and counselors working in California public schools. Regional and statewide multi-day workshops will be offered this summer to help you and other educators from across California deliver equity-minded CS instruction. Participants will be given tools and a network of support for fostering the next generation of critical thinkers and problem solvers in our increasingly digitized world.
CSPDWeek is a state-wide summer offering especially for Grade 6-12 educators. There is a 30-hour time commitment necessary to fulfill full and active participation in this learning opportunity. Participants will have access to:
High-quality, no-cost professional learning facilitated by subject matter experts
Teacher-ready resources that align with the California K-12 CS Standards
A community of educators who are passionate about teaching CS content
A daily stipend to compensate your time for full and active participation

Asynchronous work will be assigned by your workshop facilitator during this event to help you prepare for your CSPDWeek workshop. All Grade 6-12 registrants planning to attend CSPDWeek are required to attend this one-and-a-half-hour event as they prepare for their 2025 summer workshop since it is part of the 30-hour time commitment necessary to fulfill full and active participation in their summer workshop. This Kick-off event was recorded, and registrants who were unable to attend synchronously must reach out to their facilitator to receive their assignment. It is intended that Administrators and Counselors will support the implementation of CS Education at your school as well as prioritize the CS Implementation of instruction to a diverse group of students in the 2025-2026 school year while prioritizing and adapting this instruction for students who are historically underrepresented in the field of CS. Depending on whether you are a K-5 educator who participates in a Regional workshop during the 2025 Summer of CS or you are a 6-12 educator who participates in a statewide CSPDWeek workshop in Anaheim the week of June 23-27, 2025, please refer to the appropriate policy and procedure.
