Audience Eligibility: Intended for Grades K-5 public school educators and paraprofessionals. Learn more
📌 Important! Due to restrictions in the Educator Workforce Investment Grant (EWIG) in Computer Science, funding is limited to public K-12 school educators. As a result, private and independent school educators, expanded learning educators, pre-service teachers, and substitute teachers are not eligible for Summer of CS participation or a stipend. This includes the CSPDWeek workshops being offered in Anaheim, June 23-27, 2025. These eligibility requirements align with Assembly Bill 185, which prioritizes professional learning for teachers and paraprofessionals in public schools.
Commitment: 18 hours of professional learning including a 3-day regional workshop of your choice happening in June 2025. This 18-hour time commitment is necessary to fulfill full and active participation.
Participants will have access to:
High-quality, no-cost professional learning facilitated by subject matter experts
Teacher-ready resources that align with the California K-12 CS Standards
A community of educators who are passionate about teaching CS content
A daily stipend to compensate your time for full and active participation in your Summer of CS workshop
The 2024 Summer of CS offered 44 different CS-related learning opportunities across California to build the capacity of K–12 educators to deliver high-quality instruction in computer science. Registration data and surveys administered before and after each workshop offer key findings about the Summer of CS experience.
Check out the Survey Findings.
We hope all 2024 Summer of CS participants enjoyed their just-in-time, high-quality professional learning experience that aligns with CAK12CSS, QPLS, and one or more equity frameworks.
